Joan holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education with emphasis in organizational development and a doctorate (PhD) in Health Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia.
Joan started her adult work career as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and then went on to nursing school while serving 20 years of active service in the U.S. Army. Se is a retired Army Veteran and brings in depth knowledge, leadership, and training expertise to her clinical and education practice. Dr. Hall also has a long professional history as a Project Management Professional in the corporate and government sectors.
Dr. Hall has subspecialties incorporating equine interactions, the equine environment, and biofeedback in her practice. Equine welfare and ethical practice in human-equine interactions is an area of advocacy personally and professionally.
Dr. Hall is affiliated with the Denver University Equine Assisted Mental Health Practitioner Certification Program as a certified practitioner from the Institute of Human-Animal Connection.
Dr. Hall has been a practicing therapist across inpatient and outpatient settings in Colorado, Alabama, Washington, D.C., and Georgia for over 25 years. She has been in Georgia since 2013.
